Dr. Reem Kabbarah

Dr. Reem Kabbarah is a pediatric dentist who truly believes in the prevention of dental problems and in educating families about healthy smiles for life. In treating patients, her philosophy is based on respecting children yet caring for them using age-appropriate techniques and loving attention. Understanding the uniqueness of each child and identifying each family’s individual needs is how Dr. Reem delivers gentle pediatric dentistry and creates positive dental experiences at Smiles Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Reem is a graduate of the University of Southern California. She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a recipient of the Richard C Pugh Achievement Award for outstanding performance on the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry examination. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), a member of the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry (CSPD), a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), a member of the California Dental Association and a member of the Western Los Angeles Dental Society.

Besides pediatric dentistry, Dr. Reem enjoys being a mom and spending time with her family. She loves dance, yoga, music, cooking, reading, art and design.

Dr. Phillip Liu graduated from dental school at the University of California, Los Angeles and completed his pediatric specialty training at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. He has served as a faculty member of the pediatric dental department at UCLA. He is a also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) as well as the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Liu loves being part of the Smiles team and enjoys meeting and caring for our visiting families. His gentle touch and kind approach allow children of all ages to feel secure and comfortable with his care. He is an advocate of early preventative dental counseling and kind, age-appropriate techniques with children.

In his free time Dr. Liu enjoys being a father and spending time with his family. Besides pediatric dentistry, he enjoys playing and watching basketball, reading and movies. Dr. Liu is also an international traveler.

Dr. Kishibay

Dr. John S. Kishibay graduated from the University of Connecticut (BS Chemistry), the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine (DMD), the Graduate Program in Orthodontics at the Indiana University School of Dentistry (MS), and the University of Southern California in Craniofacial Biology/Cell and Molecular Biology (Ph.D.). He is currently an associate professor of Developmental Dentistry of Orthodontics and Pediatric dentistry with a joint appointment at the University of Southern California (USC) Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry and the Keck School of Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA).

Dr. Kishibay’s research interests have involved the development of cellular specificity, cell-cell interactions in development of specific craniofacial (head and neck) structures, and the specific timing of growth and development of certain craniofacial features that are initiated by hormonal influence of specific DNA messages. Dr. Kishibay’s laboratory research earned him the Milo Hellman Research Award, the most prestigious research award presented by the American Association of Orthodontist (AAO).

Dr. Kishibay is married to Dr. Donna Jane Eteson, who currently holds the position of Lecturer at UCLA School of Dentistry and is a Consultant at the UCLA Craniofacial Clinic. In addition, she is on the part-time faculty at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, teaching Craniofacial Anomalies seminars to graduate dental residents. Drs. Eteson and Kishibay are the very proud parents of three daughters.

Dr. Imanoel Golshirazian (Dr. Iman) is a Southern California native. He attended UCLA earning a degree in Psychology. Soon after, Dr. Iman headed east to attend dental school at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and continued with his Orthodontic training at Harvard. During his clinical training, Dr. Iman completed his research in the Department of Developmental Biology and received a Masters in Medical Sciences degree.

Dr. iman has enjoyed working in private practice for the last several years. He has a particular interest in technology in the orthodontic field and utilizing it to ensure safe, effective, and minimally invasive orthodontic care.

In his spare time, Dr. Iman enjoys playing basketball, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Hi there! My name is Laura and I am the Scheduling Coordinator at Smiles. I enjoy working at Smiles Pediatric Dentistry because I believe in preventative care.
I have volunteered over 100 hours at low income clinics and helped pediatric doctors promote preventative care to ensure quality of life.

I’ve always had a passion for culture and languages and I speak English, Spanish and French. I also enjoy traveling to different countries, dancing flamenco, art and reading. I look forward to seeing you at our office!

Hello everyone! I’m Ceila and I am the Hygiene Coordinator of the Smiles team. My main goal is to ensure that all our families are on track with their biannual healthy dental visits and help you to book the times that are right for your family. You will probably hear my friendly voice when you call us. Please let me know how I can help!

When I’m not in the yellow building, I enjoy spending time with my family.  My children and I enjoy watching movies together and going on outings on the weekends.

Hi, I’m Angela! I am the Financial Coordinator at Smiles. I’ve been in the dental field for over fifteen years and love it! I Love being part of the Smiles team in every way. Dr. Reem and Dr. Liu are excellent pediatric dentists who truly care deeply for each child we see. Our Care Coordinators are talented and kind.

My goal is to make your time with us positive, educational and efficient. I can assist you with any financial or insurance questions you may have.

My personal favorite part of the day is watching our little ones collect their prizes and leave with big smiles after their visit! In my spare time, I enjoy my husband and children. We love watching sports and simply “hanging out.”

Hi there! My name is Catherine and I am a Care Coordinator and a Registered Dental Hygienist. I’ve have been working with children for several years now and can’t imagine not doing it! I started in education and now I enjoy being a dental hygienist! I hold a Bachelors of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from West Coast University and am a member of the CDHA.

My favorite part of working with children is the opportunity to prevent dental problems. I love educating parents and kids about dentistry. I enjoy making dental visits fun and gentle. I find that a calm and kind approach can really help families have a positive experience at our office.

When I’m caring for children, I like to cook and get involved with giving back to my community. I also love animals and enjoy my family and friends.

Welcome to our office! My name is Myra. I am a Care Coordinator and a Registered Dental Assistant who is certified to place dental sealants. I love working with children because it is so rewarding. I strive to provide our families with a positive experience every visit and enjoy educating parents and children about dental prevention.

Our high-tech office allows me to deliver many services in digital format. I also get to research the newest devices on the market to add to our equipment. We love to be on the cutting edge of pediatric dentistry!

My hobbies include yoga, going for hikes and being outdoors. I also love to spend quality time with my son, family and friends.

My name is Brenda and I am a Care Coordinator and a Registered Dental Assistant who is certified to place sealants. I just love working with children! I’ve been doing it for years! I am fun and upbeat and love to laugh. That really helps make the kids enjoy their time at our office. I show the children how to brush, floss and clean their mouths and talk to them about healthy snacks. Giving your kids a positive experience is what makes my day!

In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors with my husband and son. We love taking our dogs to the dog park or the beach!

Hello! My name is Adriana and I am a Dental Assistant. I absolutely love being part of the Smiles team! My role here is two fold. The first part is working with our administrative team on an organizational level. The second part is assisting our clinical team and caring for our families. I enjoy both positions as each offers a different perspective on pediatric dentistry.

When I’m not in the “yellow building,” I enjoy spending time with my kids. We love to go on bike rides and visit the beach. My hobbies include dancing, cooking and exploring LA.

Hello! My name is Diane and I go by “Di”. I am a Dental Assistant. I enjoy working with kids because they are fun and put a smile on my face. I have been working in general and pediatric dentistry for over a decade!

I feel that everyday at our office is a joyful experience and I believe that helping children is rewarding, heart-warming and fun. The best part of my career is working with families to prevent dental problems from ever starting. This way, we can teach children about keeping their smiles healthy for life.

When I’m not at the office, I like to spend time with my my family and really enjoy going to the beach.
